As a user of Enlight for years, and who has told countless family members to use/buy Enlight over the years, I have avoided Photofox due to the subscription model. Then today I update Enlight only to see it will no longer be supported in the upcoming future!! 😡 So, I try out the free version of photofox to only find that features I paid and used in Enlight will now be behind a paywall in Photofox, such as the heal features!! 😡 As a user this is beyond frustrating and makes Photofox absolutely useless. I also find that Photofox is nowhere near as intuitive as Enlight, and simple feature like skew are not as easy to achieve. So my main choices are to pay 69.99 or 35.00 a year to reget features I now already have in Enlight!!! I understand needing to make money, but providing long term uses a reduced feature set or forcing them to pay is really not a great way to treat your customers.
Honestly the BEST photo app I have ever used, and I’ve tried a lot of them. This is so easy to use and even as a free-user, there is a lot of features to use. The competitions are fun too. I would highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend this app for people who like to edit photos and create beautiful masterpieces.
Last year, or little bit longer, I edited my review from positive to negative because the update changed a lot of feature I got very comfortable with. Realistically, I was getting upset about something I could’ve gotten used to…and I have. Not to mention during the time I was undergoing a lot of stress, but thankfully it was short lived. This app is the absolute best for creating and editing photos, no other app does it better. It helped me make some REALLY impressive pictures I never would’ve thought I could make without this app. Sometimes I just make a picture for no real purpose other than to see if I can actually make it. I feel like with this app I’ve peaked at my editing skills; I started with a simple eraser app to this absolutely brilliant piece of art making genius. This review may sound a bit pretentious or exaggerated, but that’s how I feel about this app. People can definitely make pictures they couldn’t have been able to before and now I’m grateful that it exists.
It’s really complete but I don’t have any idea to what can I do with this option
Developer in free app promises 50 plus tutorials 200 plus tools if you upgrade to pro. I figured i would try one month at 6.99. After purchasing and opening the same free app i counted 13 tutorials under the tutorial only. If your going to charge 7 dollars a month for a pro version it should install a seperate pro version. Also dont promise 50+ tutorials and then include 13. I even emailed the company support with no response. Im awaiting a refund. Shame as the app has potential
So easy to us. Love it!
Amazing app, never thought of subscribing to one but I’m considering it for this. It’s so easy to use and it does a lot of what I need it to do on the go.
I loved the old version, so much easier to use. This new App takes way more time and is much more confusing! I’m annoyed that I even paid for it
Both Photofox and Enlight have been deleted from my iPhone and iPad. Let me know when you guys stop playing your shell game with the features, add a proper straighten tool, restore granular adjustments (remember L-R, Up-Down? That was well done. The dumb slider? Umm, no!), and correct all the other clueless things you did to destroy the Enlight experience so many people loved. I’m happy to take the $40 hit knowing I won’t be subjecting myself repeatedly to your “what happens if we put this... here?” approach to app design and that you won’t get any more of my $$. Otherwise, you’re doing a great job! 🤣 ______ Do you guys constantly change and move things around because you have nothing better to do or because you’re sadists? Let’s waste everyone’s time by making them find the new hiding place of their favorite tool... if it hasn’t been removed! New Project button?? Seriously??? Now we have to tap that first to get to our photos? 🤬 Wow, 1 step forward, 10 steps back. I’m disliking Lietricks almost as much as I do Adobe. OTOH, duplicating a layer was too easy before so thanks for making that far more difficult, or nearly impossible if a series of edits have been made and you want to experiment in a different direction. Instead, you have to create a new layer with the original photo, then make all the same edits again (hopefully), THEN you can take it in another direction. Much better workflow! And good thing you removed the B&W options. They have no place in photography. Besides, removing all Saturation does the same thing without taking up space with color filters. Kinda like Transform being the same as Straighten. I hadn’t updated Photofaux for quite a while. Now I remember why. There are reasons I still keep and regularly use Enlight. Not just because of the beautiful “Upgrade” button I often tap accidentally. There’s also the fact that it was made before these folks started doing mushrooms. ___ Previously on WTAF: You guys should consider changing the name of the the Projects tab to “Oops, something’s gone wrong here.” Because that’s what popped up for over 100 of my projects. So I deleted the thumbnails because, 1) turns out that’s all they were, thumbnail reminders of projects that no longer exist, and 2) why bother anymore. I loved the $4 app (before the upgrade button anyway). ... So glad the $40 I spent is being put to good use for things like valentine stickers instead of unnecessary things like missing tools. The more I use this app, the more I wish I’d never paid the $40 it cost at the time (despite what they said, the 3-month trial didn’t work for me - the premium features were still locked). The latest frustration is the Reshape function. They have icons depicting wireframes or guides, and you would think that there would be some kind of guide or frame or level to keep the reshaping straight. Nope!! Once again, you’re on your own if you want anything straight in this app. But thanks anyway to the developers for instilling in me that I will NEVER pay anywhere near $40 for an iOS app ever again. A subscription, perhaps? Fugetaboutit!! I don’t rent software. ___ In response to the developer’s comment about the stock photos tab (“It will only open on the Search tab the first time you open it...”), allow me to finish the sentence accurately: “... during that session.” Open the app the next day and the default is still the Search tab. You guys are like Nuance - 90% awesome, 10% WT_?? And STILL no straighten tool.... Layer transform does not cut it - iOS doesn’t have the precision to rotate with fingers only, and there are no guides to indicate whether an image is straight. The original Enlight has a wonderful straighten tool, but to leave a $40 app to use a BASIC tool in another app is ridiculous. Not to mention image degradation each time it’s recompressed (maybe not so much with TIFs). With all the advanced features you guys have built into the app, how does a core image utility get left out?! It irritates me every time I need to straighten a photo. Part 2: Why would you make Search the new default when selecting photos? Don't most people want to work on the photos they themselves take? How about making it an option in settings. I personally would rarely, if ever, use that and it's getting irritating to have to switch back to my photos each time. Original Review: You advertise 3 mo free Pro trial for Enlight 1 users, yet why are some features still crippled? B&W > Cinema, for example. Other Pro features that I've used so far work fine. If you're wanting us to lay down the substantial price increase from v1, we should be able to try all of it. I don't want to use 90% of it, spend the money, then find out the other 10% is useless.
I purchased this app since it first came out. I used it all of the time. I don’t do anything special. Add words, make a collage. With this new update I have to figure everything out again and some of the things I liked and used are gone. Replacing them are constant pop ups to subscribe. I know there are people that really use all of the features, but I just want something to edit a photo. I don’t want to pay even more money every month to use an app I already paid for once. This isn’t the only app that’s doing this, I’ve had to delete apps asking for a monthly fee to use them. THAT’S what is disappointing.
