I see no advantage to Siri’s functioning as a habit tracker to remind me to make a note every day at 3 pm if I’m not going to remember a week from now that I made it. I’ve been using this app since my first Pocket PC. The notes feature does not, and never has, integrated well with the rest of the app. It’s always seemed like an afterthought. I want to be able to see all my appointments, all my tasks and all my notes related to a given project on one screen. The closest I’ve been able to get is by creating a Smart Filter for the project and then setting Focus View to show the Smart Filter, Notes, plus some additional filtering of the calendar and tasks. But the notes feature is flaky. My notes either show up only on the date I create them or the date I pin them to. And I can’t filter the notes to be project specific in Focus View. One more feature that would be nice . . . convert a completed task to a note. I have no problem with the subscription based model. I would pay just as much for a new paper planner every year. But it seems like the revenues collected go toward just trying to keep up with Apple’s bells and whistles and never delivering on features that should have been added years ago.
Since its inception, this product has proven to be the perfect scheduling application for me. I'm a teacher with changing schedules and this appointment keeper never fails to deliver. Thanks guys!
I’ve been using Informant since version 1! But, with the latest update for the watch, I see one event on my watch face but when I touch on Informant and open to “events” I get a black blank screen! Ugh! Want to be able to love the watch version/compatibility but just can’t. Will have to stick with iPhone & iPad use for now until watch capabilities are stable again.
When will the iWatch complications be fixed? Haven’t worked for 2 years now.
Best product on the market for time management.
While the app is fairly good, I don’t know that it’s worth $25 a year. I I’ll say that I used it way back in the day on my indows mobile device, and when I switched to iPhone I kept using it. About three years ago I switched to Android and just used google calendar. However recently switching back to iOS I was planning on using informant again. Until I checked the reviews and saw that any negative review is met by a snarky snide reply from the developer. Even when trying to be helpful they make it sound like the reviewer is an idiot “this could all be handled with one call to support” etc. So awesome app, sucky developer and customer care, use at your own risk.
Edit: Aug 30, 2019 I’ve been using Informant 5 for a wild now, in my opinion has changed considerably. I’ve had a lot of troubles getting a lot of the features to work, and using a lot of support. While they have tried to help me in most cases, when I couldn’t get A certain item to appear in a menu, they told me they didn’t know why and gave up on me! Still giving it to stars because it is feature rich, but it is extremely involved and it’s all too easy to change one setting and screw up everything. At this point, I would say support is rather limited. A lot of long-time users have been complaining about the new interface. I've been using pocket informant for a few years now, and have found it to be the most feature-rich task manager/calendar/contact list on the market. In my opinion, the new interface is one of the best I've ever seen on any mobile device. I'm getting older now, and while I've been using computers for over 50 years, mobile devices for 15, I don't learn new interfaces as quickly as I used to. I figured this one out In no time. Many have complained about the high price, and is certainly more than I have ever paid for any app. But I've been looking for a week or so at task managers and calendars to use after I retire in a couple of months. I could not find anything to compare with pocket informant. Apparently they're still having some problems with the new release, but it also appears they have fixed A number of them already. I've always gotten very prompt response when I've sent him a message asking for help, and I'm very happy with that. The convenience and the many features of PI make it worth two dollars a month, at least for me. I can't recommend it highly enough.
A friend recommended this app to me 10 years Go and I have been using it ever since. I have switched from iPhone to Android and back and have never found another calendar app that compares to this one! I love that I can color coat the events for my family members and that tasks get crossed off just like if I was writing them down. It was a change going from purchasing the app to a subscription but it is totally worth it. The customer service is excellent! They have helped me solve every issue I have had (mainly personalization preference) and getting an Android and iPad to sync; it’s possible!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Very difficult to set time.
After testing countless calendars and task management apps that will work with Outlook and my iPhone/iPad/Apple Watch using the GTD system, I found the answer for me. One app with enough customizable features to make it work for me without being overly complicated like MLO. There are no perfect solutions but this is a good of an app as I can find. I highly recommend giving it a try and see what it can do for you. Great interface, tons of useful features, and very versatile across multiple platforms. Not only am I using a PC and iOS products I also have a Gmail based email account, en Exchange Acct, Office 365, and IMAP accounts with calendars, notes, and tasks. This app handles all of it.
