It’s Just Like Having a Tour Guide in Your Car™ WHAT TO EXPECT: Grand Teton National Park is a visually stunning place like no other. The Teton Range pierces up through the flat valley with peaks at over 13,000 feet. At the base of the range, lakes formed by ancient glaciers provide dazzling places to go hiking and sightseeing. And as part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, it has abundant wildlife viewing opportunities, including moose, elk, bison and both black and grizzly bears. A tranquil contrast to its immediate neighbor to the north, Yellowstone National Park, it completes an epic road trip with dramatic mountainscapes, animal sighting, historic ranches and cabins, all easily accessible by vehicle. The journey starts as you drive through any of the 4 main entrances, continuing along the loop that includes the 26/89/191 highways along the Snake River to experience the entire park drive route. Along the way we discover how the Teton Range are some of the youngest mountains in the world, but with the oldest rocks. Relax and soak up the panoramic views of the Teton Range and surrounding valleys as we cruise to the elevated summit on Signal Mountain. You’ll hear the stories of settlers and ranchers as you wander alongside homesteading era structures at the Mormon Row Historic District, such as TA Moulton Barn and at JP Cunningham Cabin. Of course, we head to Jenny Lake, where you can jump a scenic shuttle boat and hike the many popular trails. Keep your fingers crossed and eyes peeled for wildlife along Moose Wilson Road, perhaps stopping to visit the Laurence S Rockefeller Preserve. With all the extra stories, tips and directions, you’ll enjoy a road trip drive around the Grand Teton Loop, made easy. WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Some of the highlights along the route include; • Grand Tetons • Jenny Lake • National Elk Refuge • Laurence S. Rockefeller Preserve • Moulton Barns • Menors Ferry • Snake River Overlook • Signal Mountain • Jackson Lake Lodge • Colter Bay • Jackson Lake BATTERY USAGE: ++ Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle. IPADS: ** iPad models must include a GPS chip. Please note that Apple only install these on the iPad Wifi + Cellular models. Wifi only iPad models have limited location service capabilities and are unable to play commentary automatically. DOWNLOADING: The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must be on wifi to download as the store may block the download over cellular networks. Amazing stories about the park, and essential navigation also. Really no need for a GPS just use this app
First let me say that I had never heard of this app until I was in Yellowstone and sitting around a camp fire with others at our lodge and they told me about this app. I downloaded it immediately and used it the next day. I am so impressed with this app. It’s so informative and interesting. Just love it. The next nation park I visit I will be using this app.
This app is amazing. I used the Yellowstone one last month and using the arches/Canyonlands this week. I couldn’t recommend them more!
We spent an extended weekend in Grand Teton National Park, and this app was indispensable! When the guide (we called him Craig, but later learned his real name is Dave) tells you to stop, you should stop because you are sure to see something you might have missed otherwise, or you’re going to learn something new and interesting. This is our first time using GyPSy Guides, but it won’t be our last. Anywhere we go that GyPSy Guides offers a tour, we will for sure use them. Thanks for helping make for a memorable and interesting trip to the Tetons!
The tour kept us and and our teenagers engaged with trying to determine optimum routes. It was great since there was spotty service in the park!
This is the 4th tour our family has used from GyPSy, and again, it was entertaining and very educational. “Stan” (our choice of names for the guide) gives us the best tips on what to see and where to stop. We’d be missing out on so much information if we hadn’t used this app. It works really well no matter if we have cell/internet service or not.
Must have and Cheap🎉🎉❤️
First, let me say Dave Pettit is my new favorite narrator. It took me about an hour of research to find out who this voice gem was. We mic-names him “Gary the Guide” as we drove through Yellowstone. I hope Dave starts narrating Audible books! My husband and I are avid travelers of Yellowstone as it is our favorite place on earth. I happened upon this ap and thought I would give it try just for fun. Boy, am I glad I did. Not only did we learn a ton of things about the park we never knew but also saw things we never knew were there! This app made the trip so enjoyable and is not only great for adults but will keep kids attention too! I honestly think we will continue to use this app for years to come just because we had so much fun listening to “Dave aka: Gary the guide”
This app was very very helpful!!!
What an amazingly helpful app! Navigation and trip decisions can be sources of bickering for our family of five. With this app, there is no more mom fumbling with maps and brochures, discussing options, playing referee between all the different opinions in the van. We just do whatever Joe says. (We named the tour guide Joe.) He’s been right on the money every time with the exception of once. The “easy” Jenny Lake lakeside hike was much more difficult in melting snow. So watch for weather-related differences that Joe can’t anticipate from inside your phone!
