Unfortunately, this camera is very unreliable and very difficult to get hooked up. Many times the screen on the iPad goes blank while recording live. Sometimes we are not able to record our lives church services because we cannot get the camera to connect. We have tried using Apple phones, iPads and even Samsung phones, but to no avail. We even changed our internet provider to have faster, more reliable service. We added a WiFi extender to give a stronger signal...but none of these things worked out. Therefore, my two-star rating, which is probably a little on the generous side...because I don’t want to be too hard on them...maybe I should. I really feel as if we wasted our $700 and wish we could get it back and use it towards a better camera system. It’s disappointing that companies sell products that really do not function properly.
Purchase this Mevo plus bundle for 799 plus 19.99 shipping. These devices works with Facebook sometimes. I was prompted to do an update this past Sunday, after the update nothing works app doesn't recognize the device. I've reached out to tech and the first thing they do is try to blame it on Apple. when I've tried it on my note 9 and iPhone. Save your money this device is not reliable and if i could do it all over i would invest my 799 elsewhere.
This app is slowly getting better and better. But truly needs to be added as an app for MacBook. This would be the game changer for me. And I would totally pay for the app for Mac. Plz plz plz put this on Mac! Also: Countdown timer needs to be one that you can start or restart once you go LIVE, not once you select it. That little bug is sort of annoying. Otherwise great updates!
It would be great if the auto follow feature would more smoothly follow the subject in the livestream. My pastor moves around a lot with his body and head and it’s very choppy. It would also be nice if you could lock the shot vertically or horizontal so the live view only goes left/right or up and down depending on what lock you have set.
The Mevo App for the IPhone 7+ constantly crashes while I attempt to use. The camera and app is now completely unusable. When I do get into the app, I only get so far before I press a wrong tab and the app crashes. Very frustrating...
Like other user’s experiences, connections between the app and Mevo are very inconsistent and highly unteliable. I bought the boost and have a 100 mb down and 10 up. The ethernet cable is plugged into the back of the boost to make streaming fast and still the ipad can not connect to the boost only 20 feet from it with a direct line of connection from Mevo to ipad. Don’t even try to use wifi. Its absolutely useless. You need at least 5ghz wifi router by the way. If its 2.5 ghz you will major connection issues. You have to connect the ipad to the mevos hotspot. Your ipad is the remote. It streams from the mevo boost if by ethernet cable. And if you want professional audio from a sound board you need a audio converter that increases the signal. It goes into the converter then into the ipad. All of this mess is the perfect storm for a crappy experience and trouble. It consistently disconnects from the ipad. It has made me look stupid on several occassions. I wish I could get all my money back.
My new Mevo camera does not work. Only way to contact support is via email. They have removed phone support. I have been email them back and forth to try to get the camera working for over a week.
App does not always connect with the camera easily. It also switches off other apps running in the background. So, for instance, it is not possible to have the audio source be routed through another app. These fixes are needed ASAP.
