Very simple to use. Garmin has done it again
Love not having to get a jump drive to download latest update then transfer it to micro. This is about as easy as it gets!!
Wave protected from south through northeast but good place to get a breeze when it’s warm. Bottom is grassy but holding is ok.
This app compliments my Garmin unit perfectly. I can build waypoints, maps, routes from anywhere and transfer them from one to the other. No complaints from me.
Garmin has created a night mare. There are multiple apps to operate, and none of the apps talk to one another. I bought a GPSMAP 86sci. It does not connect to active captain so the way points can’t’ be synced. And the way points, tracks and routes do not sync from Active Captain to EXPLORE, whatever that app is for, so the only way to get way points into the new handheld is to manually enter them by modifying the MARK command. Then, when you go through that cumbersome process, you can sync with EXPLORE. IT’S A MESS. Had I known, I never would have purchase the handheld inReach. The only thing I see using that for is if my ship is going down.
I’ve been buying Garmin products for about 30 years and found them all to be excellent until the Active Captain program. Some of the features are nice but overall, it seems to be oriented toward geeks rather than boaters. A simplified version might change my opinion but for now it’s rated no stars even though it’s free.
Awesome App,, navigation easy.
Great maps pretty much spot on for location and locating piles or rocks
You spend 8k on garmin products and now to set everything up you have to have SIM cards! Garmin you need to simplify this crap or only sell to Dealers that know how to set this stuff up!
It is so nice to use my Ipad at the back of the boat to mirror my g Garmin 7610. I have the sonar right at my fingertips, i can also stream music to my stereo and control that also. I can look at and plan how and where I want to fish new lakes that I am not familiar with. I do find that the depth recording are off and wish i was able to adjust. But once you have an idea how much its really off its just a matter of math. All in All I have been very please with the Garmin products in my boat and I find them trouble free. Easy to work with, well thought out design and simplistically work together.
