The app has been great. The only thing that has been confusing is what is free and what is charged. Need to be separate.
After I figured out it was just my stupidity causing problems with the chart functions of the app, it now works flawlessly! Thank you Kris with Garmin for reaching out. Next time I’ll make sure to learn the app before rating it again. My apologies Garmin!
Touchy, takes some getting used to
This app works great but the user interface could be better. It would be awesome if you could use a satellite image layer on the surrounding land. For the Salmon and Steelhead fishing in the PNW I see spots That look fishy but when I get home and try and find the spots in the app it’s difficult to distinguish the exact location without satellite imagery to identify land marks.
I use this app many times and it has a constant issue updating my devices, loading new purchased maps or updating the maps. Garmin really has no support and there web site under FAQ HAS NOTHING listed on issues. Come on Garmin get it together ir the others will catch you with you pants down.
This is a must have if you are running garmin chartplotters on your boat. It allow you to update maps, software, waypoints, etc. I had issues when connecting to my graphs by WiFi when out in the lake. Map update sync kept failing and my chartplotter maps were flashing, coming in and out. Made fishing and navigation impossible that day.
I picked up Navionics with no manual, just intuitive. Since Garmin owns Navionics I assumed this (Active Captain) would be as good. It may work fine once I figure it all out, but it is not intuitive. I wish Garmin would make Navionics compatible with Garmin Chart plotters.
