Introducing The Detroit News eEdition app, where subscribers can read The Detroit News on iPhone and iPad with all the stories, photos and ads shown just as it appears in print. Subscribers can use their current account login to access current and back issues.
This app rarely works for a week at a time. This is especially troubling since we pay for daily on line use! Worse yet no one at the Detroit News seems to care, App crashes, freezes, fails to load, asks for password after you are already reading ....horrible
Use an iPad. Loaded and reloaded, changed password multiple times. You select the date of the paper that you want and get a blank page. I’m going to give up my subscription.
Been using this app for several years without a problem. Monday Aug 20th while reading news a notification popped up stating this is an invalid server. I uninstalled app & today reinstalled it. Still not working. States we need a subscription. We have had one for decades. Anyone else having this difficulty?
App was working fairly well but in the last couple of weeks the bottom edge of readable area has been cut off. Don't know for certain if it is an app problem or if something changed with my iPad mini.
I downloaded the app and used it one day on my iPad. Worked fine. After that the app hangs and can never get by the sign in page. Deleted and reloaded, same problem. Moved on.
My husband and I both have iPads and have a subscription for both Detroit papers. We received no notification. App just stopped working ( both times on a Sat. when there is no tech support). Thought it was resolved. Now not working again. The people at the help center really don't know how to help. While it was working, we agreed that the format was cumbersome. I do love how the screen can be enlarged, but why the split screen when choosing an article? All in all - not an improvement at all.
Looks like the USA app which is bad, and I deleted , I deleted this app as well looking for another app to takes its place
Worked for awhile then stopped. Garbage authentication for logging in. Not ready for prime time.
I am not a fan of this new app. On the iPad, I can only read the article on half the screen. It would be much better if the article could be seen on the entire screen. Previously, when using the e edition through the Detroit news website, I could see the article on the full screen.
