I have this app on 2 Apple TVs (bedroom and living room). When I first set it up it was on the bedroom unit. When I came down to watch it in the living room it gives you a code to active the second Apple TV but it doesn’t give you the website. Total rookie move for an app. Since I subscribed through Apple, I don’t have an ID or password for MyOutdoor so there is no way for me to watch unless I am on that one Apple TV. Going to have to cancel because of this. I even tried to “restore” my subscription with the app on my phone and even that throws an error. Not thought out very well.
You cannot stream current content. All content available on the service is at least 6 months old, and many episodes for certain shows are missing. This is not a substitute for having the channel, and as such the price is too high. The app itself is pretty crappy, but on par with most network streaming apps (slow, hard to navigate, etc). I signed up for the free trial thru iTunes, and I couldn’t not gain access to the content, it kept sending me to the sign up screen. When I contacted customer support, they just passed the buck, saying it’s iTunes platform problem, after reading other reviews, I feel this is their platform problem that’s been going on for years. At $10 a month you would think you would have better service, boy I was wrong. They wanted me to uninstall they reinstall, all this for a free trial, don’t get me wrong Pigman and Meateater are great shows, but not worth this headache. Guess I’ll stick to watching meateater on Netflix.
This app, along with the web interface, is very poorly optimized. I downloaded the app today and it’s not even allowing me to log in. The log in window won’t even load. If I select a show (hoping this would prompt me to a different window to log in) the app crashes. I’m using an iPhone 8+ with the latest IOS. This is frustrating as I pay $10/mo for the subscription & can’t even use the mobile app. Love the shows but unfortunately, I’ll be canceling my subscription.
I was an early adopter of this app and their subscription. I’ve been holding onto hopes that it would get better for years now. It has improved, but slowly and not remotely up to date with what a user should experience in an any app. UI is clunky, glitchy, and sometimes things just plain don’t work. The exit “X” might not be there and you may be stuck in a show. You may download content the day of your flight, and then once in airplane mode, you’ll be unable to view it with an error message saying you haven’t logged in in 30 days so they need to verify via logging in. I travel constantly and would estimate that this happens 75% of the time. For a long time I thought it was my older phone causing the issues but after upgrading realized it’s simply a bad app that if it wasn’t for the incredible content I would’ve ditched it long ago. I’m sure the individuals behind it are great at their jobs and nothing against them, however I would strongly suggest re-allocating the phenomenal amount of money spent in marketing this service to developing an easily usable, reliable, and proper app that serves the customers you already have. I have cancelled my subscription, today.
I purchased through iTunes and they took our money and we don’t have service. Contacted customer service, absolutely no help. Just saying no account to that email. It’s attached to the iTunes account you took the money from. And they have a no refund policy. Sounds like theft to me. Sad as they could have been a decent outlet, but hey, how would I know, just donating 100.00$ for nothing.
App just updated won’t open. Tried logging in online and won’t accept any of my login info, sorry not paying for it twice.
Went thru the hassle to sign up for service. Downloaded app. Can’t log in. Can’t reach server. Not worth time , money, and hassle.
Good content but poor performance. On the apple version of the app I try using air play and it crashes/drops frequently. It also resets to a default lower video quality every time. Tried the amazon app and it is missing several episodes of shows I want to watch. Not worth the $, not even close.
