USNG Me is an app for displaying your current location in United States National Grid (USNG) coordinates. Features: - Display your location in USNG coordinates (1m, 10m or 100m grid reference precision) - Display your altitude - Display your heading - Share your current location with others via SMS, email etc. - Customize the format used to share your current location with others - Light and dark theme available - Works without a cell signal Note: Wifi-only iPads are not supported as they do not have a GPS receiver. Using GPS shortens battery life.
Missing options for 5k and 1k rounding so one does not have figure it out while chasing storms!
The Sheriff department in our county has no idea what this is or how to use it. We tried using it after a car crash in an Unfamiliar area and the Local Sheriff’s dispatcher had no idea what we were talking about.
Very helpful information. Great assurance when in the woods.
Have been using for awhile now, works great to get grid coordinates
I need to find a location, can you tell me how to use this app.
This isn't a "navigation" app, but an elegantly simple tool allowing you to precisely determine your location; so as to be able to place yourself on a UTM (MGRS/USNG) gridded map, ... ... or more importantly to tell others your precise location( e.g. emergency personnel). Simple to launch, simple to read. No "navigation" skills or mapping coordinate knowledge is necessary. The large, clear, easy to read text is perfect for stressful situations. Should be on every phone.
Fortunately I haven’t had to use the app, but it gives me comfort to know I have it for emergencies when off the beaten path. I’m out mountain biking alone enough that I might need it for myself or another rider to direct emergency crews to the rescue.
We used this app for an entire week in the middle of the desert during mobilization. We had a severe lack of equipment. All we had was USNG Me, a map, and a protractor. Had it not been for this app we would have been lost every second of the mission!
Very useful and great for search and rescue. Also. If hikers could use this app we would not lose as many people. Great app keep it up.
