Love the app and have been upgraded to Pro for 2 years; however, since most recent update I cannot open the app without it crashing. Have iPhone 6 with latest iOS installed. Please fix!
Out of all of the reading trackers I have tried, this one is by far the best. The layout makes the app simple and easy to use and I particularly love the feature that tells you how much you will need to read each day to finish the book. With all that being said, the company really beats you over the head with the pro version, every time you open the app, an ad for the pro version pops up and there are a whole slew of features that are only available on pro. My biggest issue with this is that it is a monthly subscription to pro($25 per year when most “pro” apps are a $10 one time payment at the most). I would be much more willing to buy pro if it were a one time payment.
I love it. It’s highly motivating and super easy to adopt this new method of tracking before and after reading. However, the latest update will launch the app and immediately crash it. Can’t log anything. Hope I don’t lose my stats.
I’m a big fan of BookTube, Bookstagram, Book Twitter, you name it! But those things can be very distracting when I’m trying to read. I tell myself I’ll just scroll for a minute and 2 hours later I’m lost in the black hole that is social media. Since using the Bookly app, I’ve been able to stop that behavior. Since the app tracks my time spent reading, I feel like when that stopwatch is going I have to be truly reading. Which means I’m halfway through the year and I’ve read more than I did last year already. As a Ravenclaw who loves recording random personal stats, I really enjoy the infographics feature. I use the quotes feature to nerd out and track words I come across that I don’t know and want to look up later. The thoughts section helps me organize notes for my Book Club discussions as well. And since I don’t like annotating in my actual books, I don’t need to carry around an extra notebook because I always have my phone and this app with me. And my final reason for rating this app 5 stars is that I am a fan of the company. I always see them interacting with the bookish community on bookstagram and have only had positive experiences. So if you’re looking for an app to help you focus on reading, organize your thoughts, and track some cool stats, I highly recommend this app!
Wish I could get suggestions without getting pro😕
I originally downloaded Bookly because I needed a simple app to keep track of my reading. Bookly delivered above and beyond. From tracking my reading with an easy to use interface to helping me keep a better reading schedule with reminders and goals Bookly beat all my exceptions. Even more impressive is how Bookly’s team is continuing to refine existing functionality and add new features with each update. This is the only app you’ll have to download for your reading needs.
The app is great to motivate you to read regularly and track progress. Only complaint is I had trouble logging new vocab words and quotes because the submit button is behind the keyboard. Keyboard doesn’t have a submit button or collapse when you press elsewhere.
This is a great app. But the new update crashes on launch on my iPhone 7 Plus running the most resent iOS. Can’t log progress. Excited to see what changes have been made.
Love this app from the day that I got it. The UI makes it easy to use the app and really stay motivated to read more. If you’re looking for a book tracking app there is no better than this.
I like this because it’s an easy way to keep track of my reading and to encourage me to read more. There are a couple of things I would change. Mostly in the “oops, operator error” category. 1) If a button is accidentally pushed to start reading another book after finishing a book, there is no way to undo the start reading. As I frequently have multiple books this has happened 3 times. The app requires that the page I’m on is a higher number. I know this doesn’t sound like much, but the book it keeps opening is a workbook! 2) If I forget to hit STOP and go to bed; I end up having read for 7-8 hours while sleeping! I wish there were a way to adjust the timer so I could reflect actual reading time and progress. As it is, I “finish” the book and just read on my own time. Aside from those two operator error issues, I enjoy this app.
