Big issues

The app is good and all but trying to read English dub it doesn’t match up and it way behind by seconds if that was fixed this app would be better

Great content with interface issues

I love anime! Okay now for the review. I really enjoy that English dub is so readily available, also the selection is HUGE. I got this subscription specifically for One Piece, all these years I’ve been missing out on this show! There are a few issues with the app however. I won’t list them, some other reviews have mentioned them already. Just a few things here and there need to be worked on in order to improve the viewers experience. My biggest issue is there are a few episodes that don’t finish all of the way. As though they cut the last 5 mins out. So I end up missing a few details. Please pleas fix this!

Good but..

I love it. So many to choose from. It’s made me into the weeb I am. But there is one minor problem. So before the intro. There are 3 ads. Then when the intro is over, another 3 ads. A few minutes later another 3 ads. Just SO many ads🥱Also, if you want to FINISH a show or movie you have to be a member So if your not an add person or a buying membership . Please reconsider getting this app. Thank you

Left at Albuquerque?

As the title may alude, there’s bugs, though I find them more frustrating than funny. With the most recent update; it appears to be subtitles that play WAY TOO EARLY, in fact, long before the scene for which everything is occurring do the subtitles start rambling off, and there’s nothing I can do about it, I tried closing down and relaunching the app, re-installing, restarting my phone, nothing works. Just another version of the mobile app that makes me want to cancel my sub...again...

Apple tv issues

The app is great on my phone, I don't have any problems with it there. on my Apple TV, newer episodes won't play. It'll just show a black screen with the red blocked circle 🚫. I've deleted the app so many times and then reinstalled it and none of that seems to work. And it usually just happens with just new episodes... most the time I have to airplay from my phone onto my TV. (which I feel like is redundant since I have an Apple TV and its only me on my account)

Good but

Overall This is an amazing app but there’s a few issues. 1. The ads: The hours are perfectly fine but the only ad I ever get is just Papa John’s ads. Of course there’s nothing wrong with that but I would like a variety of ads so at least I can find an app or something I like. 2. Locked: yes there is a wide variety of enemies you can watch not complaining but half of them are locked yes nothing is wrong with this I’m not trying to complain not trying to be annoying not trying to be everyone else to shoes because of a dumb reason I don’t even know how much animes are on this app so I don’t actually know what it is but it seems like half of them are locked I would like if only a little bit were unlocked. 3. Ads time: Yes I just talked about the ads everything is Ok but it seems like there’s ads every five minutes and some of the ads even crash the app. Yes just like I said they’re all Papa John’s has but when I’m trying to say this if this isn’t completely clear is that a lot of the time the ads crashed the app. Sometimes it doesn’t but it lags but then it’s fine. It seems like the app is having a hard time to load or process but I don’t make apps and I’m not expert so I don’t really know. 4. pausing: sometimes it causes by itself and I don’t know why I think it’s a lag and then I accidentally press the screen and I see it was paused. Yes sometimes it actually looks and takes a second to process but I alot of the time it does pause on me now again I don’t make apps so I don’t really know what I’m saying I’m just trying to report / reveiw what’s going on and such. Thank you for reading this very long paragraph review 😅. - ❤︎Bella❤︎

Amazing dedication to anime

At first... On the day you released the second episode of “The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent “, the timing between the subtitles and the anime itself was off. The subtitles started before the anime started. They started around the time the Funimation logo played. Afterwards... You fixed the problem on the day after the episode was released. Your dedication is amazing.

UI unstable and subtitle bug

If I click a thumbnail to check out an anime I’m unable to go back one page because the ‘back’ button is hidden behind my clock. I’m on the iPhone 12 Mini and I have to close the app completely to access any other anime in the Funimation Library. Fix it please. Edit: they fixed the UI but now subtitles are showing up 10 seconds before the character speaks. This includes all the spring 2021 releases.

If you didn’t have any other options, it’d still be a bad choice.

I’ve been watching anime for years, across different platforms/apps, and Funimation sticks out. I’ll still use it for some of the exclusives/classics but it’s honestly easier to find a website bootlegging than it is to load it up on this paid service. Some of my off the top complaints. •Subtitles can lag with sometimes 30-60seconds behind or ahead of the scene. Sometimes the subtitles just don’t load. •The library can cycle through the same 10-20 anime without any others coming up, even though there’s hundreds of anime in their library. Unless you know what exact anime you want to watch, good luck finding something new. •Xbox version of the app is a worse version and because of that means I “have” to use my phone to just get a bad experience. •It’s confusing when you see that a show in the recently updated tab but there isn’t anything added, check in a few hours and then it should be ready to watch. The pros of the app •Classic anime with good English dub are easier to enjoy because of the convince of the library, once you add them to your watchlist. Most of the series will already be completed so you can binge shows like Cowboy Bebop, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, and Trigun with almost no problems. All of these fall into some form of “first world problem” but at the end of the day, if you just have to watch the exclusives, go for it. If you’re not that into anime you can get better services from some of the other apps out there for a better price and easier time.
