Wow I had everything ready in less than ten minutes. I was using the modeling function in 15. The upgraded features were definitely well worth it. Excellent graphics that were very easy to understand.
No negatives. Try it you’ll be happy
Really great little estimator, I would give it a 90. It would be a hindered if it had a expense budget side.
I’d love if the program could factor in a part-time schedule, but I know I used, post maternity leave. Currently the program over estimates my retirement because I cannot factor in the five-year period which I worked a part-time schedule.Otherwise the program is great. If it had that extra future, which seems like a nightmare to include, I would rate it a five!!
Very well designed. Easy to use. Very well thought out. Seems to be accurate when compared with other calculators. Nice to have all in one place. Might be better if outside investments could be entered. TSP is not very good savings place. Have been taking distributions since 59 1/2 and getting much better returns! I just put those numbers in TSP area and it works out. Highly recommended.
This app easily and accurately gives a great description of how much one can expect to have in retirement. It requires some inputs of your own situational numbers, but once plugged it shows you your future financial picture.
Sure I could use GRB to look at the same information. But I like having my numbers at my fingertips and not having to pull out my laptop. Especially helpful when I’m meeting with my financial advisor.
I wish categories would let you specify a % drawdown and show you when you’d run out of money like it treats the tsp.
In fact, they are way off. Annual income is estimated at twice what it should be. Numbers I enter are changed. For example, I entered the FERS supplement in app, but the app chose to add several thousand to the number without any explanation.
Just entered all pertinent data in the app and noticed a couple of areas that it won’t help with. This app provides a very good snapshot of income at a given time; however, it doesn’t provide a means to understand how long a certain income can be sustained. It would be great to see the other income sources (can be included in snapshot analysis via paid upgrade) reduced over time, even if just from simple growth and withdrawal algorithms. Also would be nice to see a few other improvements. List of possibilities include: years AND months for when a certain income starts, monthly income in addition to yearly income, and income shown per tax year vice age only. These should allow for a better planning tool vice a snapshot in time. BTW the app does a GREAT job of estimating FERS annuity income and that is appreciated.
