How do you release new versions of an app that are less usable than previous versions? Some very standard exercises are just gone (eg: a simple row machine?). I used to be able to have weight increases suggested to me— now gone. For saved workouts, I used to be able to change weights and reps on the fly. You can still do that but they aren’t saved in the workout. So for eg, if you mark that you did 12 reps instead of 10, the next time you open that workout you won’t see 12. It’s really annoying because all of these things were in the older versions before the “upgrades”.
App is a great for people who work out, or are new to workouting out. I use it to find workouts for specific muscle groups.
Great features but once you set your planned workout you can’t change it. You also can’t log your workout as you go. The gym can be a busy place and you have to adjust in the moment. It has great features but the lack of flexibility makes it useless.
This is by far one of the best workout apps I’ve tried, and trust me I’ve gone through plenty. I’ve used this app for several years and along the way I’ve noticed a few minor things. This app should constantly be updating their exercises and it’s variations, it’s intermediate at best. This has an immediate impact on what “My Trainer” can offer. I find myself too often wanting to incorporate a specific exercise to my workout and to find out it’s not on the app. Speaking of “Workouts”, I’d be nice to have the ability to replace an exercise or skip it all together after having started the workout. Outside of all these things mentioned, this app does a great job of providing the information and tracking abilities that one needs.
THIS IS THE BEST WORKOUT APP I HAVE EVER DOWNLOADED!!!! I have came across SO many types of these apps and they all sucked and didn’t give you a lot of information on certain workouts ir a planner, but this one is amazing because all of the features it gives you and stuff on how to do the workouts and such, PLZ DOWNLOAD
This app seems to be what I am looking for but the views where I am setting my weight lifted and sets completed is very buggy. It’s really quite frustrating. I need to tap the (blinking) fields for entering my weight and sets so many times. Takes about 6 or 7 seconds to finally open the dialog to enter my numbers. Y’all did not test out this app on enough devices! In all the years I have been an iPhone user, I’ve never had an app work this poorly.
I love the app but it would be great if it reported that I was working out so my watch would record my workout. I often forget to do that and having the app do it for me would be fantastic.
Can not play music from iphone while using the app. Tried multiple music apps same result. Worthless!!
Love the app. Can give you autogenerated workouts based on your goals or you can build your own workout based on your own workout plan. Has video demos and instructions for each exercise to show proper form. I like the progress tracking. Would really give this 4.5 stars as the recent update took away some exercises that I liked and got rid of the “coach/trainer” that had the option to remind you to add more weight to an exercise the next time you did that workout and had a working weight calculator that was decent. I would like to see the working weight calculator as a more detailed and usable feature. I also would like to add one more set to the exercise as it only goes up to 5 sets. I like adding my warm up sets. I know I could just add the exercise again, but it would be nice to just add as many sets as I would like. I also would like to be able to modify the workout while in the middle of the workout, such as adding an exercise (say if the gym is busy and you know you can’t use a given bench or machine and you need an alternate exercise). I also would like to be able to add a set in the middle of the workout, such as if I am having a good day and knock out a max rep set or try to push my weight on another set. These are a bit picky as the app is great, but would really round out the experience. Again, great app. Like the functions and layout and progress tracking.
