I bought it back in the day. It was great. Then they slowly stripped away features. I didn’t need improvements, it was perfect the way it was. This recent stripping away of iCloud sync and forcing customers to subscribe If they want any sync service (and having to do it through dayone servers instead of more well known sync services) is the last straw. I’d consider a few “cups of coffee” for an upgraded app that still allowed me to sync to iCloud, but I’m not interested in a subscription to do what I paid to do a few years ago. Did some research and now I’m happily using Journey (which imports DayOne journals beautifully!). I loved day one while I had it. I used both iOS and Mac OS versions but now I’m gone. -former customer.
I love you Day One. The best way to collect my thoughts is by using this app. I have both on my laptop and phone. Syncs nicely.
This is definitely one of the best apps I’ve ever invested in. It’s a personal journal in which you can store pics and all other types of media. It’s instagram for the self. Simply amazing
It’s a great app, nice layout and design, easy to use I’ve been using this app for years, I don’t write every day but I reread my entries a lot, suddenly all of my posts were deleted this happened two times I used to write a lot in this app because I’m a writer, but this app forced me to use my notes app or pen and paper, because you never know when it’ll just erase everything Great app, just be careful
Overall, this is the best journaling app in the store. It could be much better if they could fix the UI of the iPad app. As it is, it is extremely finicky to maneuver a day's entry without starting a second entry for the same day. Also, if you tap on one of the existing entries along the left side, it refuses to go full screen as it should. At least make these things customizable. Stop being an arrogant jerk about this, and give people some choice.
I love this journaling app! It is so easy to use and the features are great!
I’ve had this app for a few years as a journal app. I just found out that the old platform was not supported and I’d have to update to the new version. I did, and now I have two apps that look the same except the new version no longe syncs to Dropbox and it is very difficult to navigate - not to mention all of the features that are part of the premium/paid version. I would recommend the old version, but not the new version.
I loved the previous version and used it for years. I wish I had not uploaded the new app and deleted the old one. Now they took away sync and I have to pay MONTHLY to get it back? Bad business! This way, I’ve lost features and have to look at ads for premium. Booooooo Day One.
Dear day one team, I was one of your first supporters with the original app. I loved the experience so much I paid for it. But now that you have removed the option for any ownership altogether and sabotaging my purchase, I am forced to export ALL of my journals elsewhere, even though my journals are backed up via iCloud and do not pass through your servers. I remembered you had an ownership option available for the new app previously, but that is now gone. It certainly wasn’t worth $50, but it’s still a better option than subscriptions. I am tired of subscription services infecting every app. There must be something substantially new consistently to warrant a subscription, because frankly the costs add up. I don’t care how many apps cost the same as a cup of coffee, I’d rather drink my coffee instead. Sincerely, Your ex-customer
