By FLO HEALTH, INC.
I’ve used this app to track my menstrual cycle for years. I deleted it today after reading an article citing their recent activity selling user data. Flo promises privacy with the health information and data collected but was recently slapped by the FTC for selling user health information to Google and Facebook.
This app says it cares about its users privacy but is selling user data to Facebook. Automatic delete.
I used to love this app. It would track my periods pretty accurately and I was able to go to the articles and read other people experiences and communicate with people about the different things we go through as girls and then I opened up the app recently to go see the articles and see if I could find one about the topic I was looking for, since I find these more useful than the ones I pull up on google, and to my disbelief ALL of the articles are now locked and you have to pay for them, I couldn’t find not one single article that I didn’t have to pay for. And for this, I’m deleting
This app is everything for your first cycle, flo gives you cycle predictions like when you’ll get your next period, when you’re ovulating, stuff like that, this app also has featured for when you want to conceive, personally haven’t used it, i’m young but im guessing it tells you the best times to start trying, flo has been by my side since 2018 when i got my first period, i always know when i’m about to get it and i can log any symptoms i’m having like cramps or headaches and i’ll get feedback telling me why or what i can do or what helps with it yk? It’s an essential app really, favorite so far.
I honestly don’t like this app a lot when it come to when you need to know about woman’s daily features. You have to pay 4 dollars a month which equals to 47 dollars a year I think. As a poor woman who doesn’t know much information about myself it’s kind of disappointing I have to pay to know how my vagina works etc. But overall it’s a good app and you can social to other people about what it’s like going in a woman’s body. Most of them are super supportive and I like the sign in chart they give you when you have symptoms
Was a user for a long time but just deleted the app. Check the news: Flo shares fertility tracking and pregnancy goal data with Facebook for ad marketing. Google it and find out for yourself. It's a gross and disturbing breech of privacy :(
I love this app especially the secret chats. But I don’t think it’s fair that their aren’t any secret chats to discuss abortion. I can’t even find anything on the topic and I don’t think it’s fair because it’s something that some women have to go through and they should be able to talk about that too. Everything seems like it’s supposed to be so happy all the time on this app when it comes to pregnancy and that’s not realistic and I think they’re doing a disservice to those women who have to go through that but can’t share it. This seems like just another app where they’re telling people it’s wrong without considering all the circumstances and aspects of real people’s lives.
Just read an article stating that the owners of Flo have been caught selling menstrual data to Google and Facebook to tailor ads. They likely won’t stop given that they were caught and only given a slap on the wrist for it.
I really like this app, however the videos I want to watch is locked, but I do highly recommend this.
This app sells your private medical data to Facebook so they can target you with ads, e.g. when you are ovulating. They just hit hit big time by FTC for illegal practices and in violation of their own policies and procedures.
