Very nice app, simple and easy to use ,it could be better if they add more tools and shapes , I hate leaving it to go finish my work on an other apps Needs an update ASAP it keep crashing every time I try to change the color of a shadow... I also would love to see color gradient option in the app Thank you
I’m stopping to write this out of some frustration I’ve run into that I can’t blame entirely on Assembly, but I also can’t not blame them for allowing things to end up in their current state without some safeguards in place. My issue is with the fact that my iPad Pro has been crawling and struggling just to open anything in this app - it reminds me of working publications/graphic design back before 2k with PowerMac 8500s that had 80 megabytes of RAM and 4 GB HDs. It was sloooowww. Even Adobe Illustrator, which assembly is a practical alternative version of, with its vectors and lack of dense rasterized images would have performance issues. But those days should be in the past. I believe it is mainly because my documents are all in my cloud. And because there is a lot of them it seems to get traffic jammed. Sometimes I can’t open anything while other times it takes so long to get something opened only to have a error message telling me I can’t edit the document. Maybe the vectors are by and large too complex ? I have been using the imaengine app to .svg photos into assembly which could be the culprit also. iCloud can be slow, but not operational Death slow ... *im also using test flight for new versions - it would be great to hear from the dev to give me some hint as to which of these things could be responsible for the maddening crawl. Had to subtract a star until I figure this out.
I know, it’s a cliche. But if I can create with this app ANYONE over 8 can.
Developer responded to difficulty in less than a day. Very good response time.
After the last update the whole app disappeared, was told that the beta version had expired when in fact I had purchased the app a while back. Re-downloaded the app and some of my extra purchases are missing. I don’t rate of criticize any app that I’m not happy, but if I pay for something I expect it to be here when I get ready to use it aging.
If you are a graphic designer or artist that needs to get simple or moderate work done in a pinch, Assembly won't let you down. The team is constantly adding new feature's, I hope soon it will be able to rival the likes of Adobe Illustrator. As of now though, if you are planning on doing complex graphic designs with multiple layers and gradients, it may not be suitable. Though, it is by far the greatest graphic design tool in the App Store by lightyears. There is also a $30/year subscription for more shapes as well as the ability to use text and custom fonts, GET THIS, ITS INCREDIBLE. Get this whole app, it's incredible, cheers!
When using the app, the app automatically suggested I preview some of the new Pro features. There is no way to opt out of the preview and apparently even opening the app will automatically subscribe you to a WEEKLY pro subscription. Completely fraudulent and disgusting behavior.
It’s a 5 star app for usefulness on the small 3x5 phone screen while riding on the bus. I take a star because of subscription pricing. It’s the snapping that gives it smarts and the precision. Precision I use to center a small circle on top a larger circle and “cut” to make an ‘O’ shape, without an align function... on the trampoline. You can draw anything when you master the controls and features. The snap make it fun... and useful. Export the SVG and continue on my desktop.
Graphic arts is something that I really enjoy and this app just gives me so much creative space to play with and grow that I can’t stop using it! The endless shapes and logos gives my mind a rush! I’m glad I discovered this I’m definitely gonna recomend this app.!!!
This app is one of my favorite design apps of all time!!! I love the ease of the layers and the design ability of everything. The only thing I’d like to see that would make it my absolute favorite would be to integrate a few drawing features and to be able to texture my colors... the flat color isn’t always what I want.
