Being a very satisfied great courses customer for over a decade I’ve come to accept that constant bugs and poor performance is just something you have to deal with to access their amazing content.
I use the app both on a iPad Pro (latest model) and IPhone X. I have the same problems on both devices. 1. Whenever you select a course or option in the app it hangs for about 15-20 seconds before it navigates or acknowledges your selection. 2. Downloads seem to get hung up and take a long time even on very high speed internet. 3. Downloads sometimes will not play when away from WiFi which defeats the whole point of downloading them. 4. When you turn off the screen the course stops playing even if its audio only, and it takes several tries to get it to play with the screen off. 5. Related to issue number one, In general all navigation within the app is very slow on both devices. 6. Often when I try to download a lecture it says it has downloaded. But it only takes 2 seconds and the file size is tiny. The video won’t play when offline because it never downloaded. Now I know to triple check but that is really annoying

I have an iPhone 10, I have deleted the app and reinstalled it, and it still doesn’t work. Great product, app doesn’t work in the slightest for me which is awful because it’s the main way I use this product.
I subscribe and then go on the app and sign in and I get told I need to subscribe. Vicious circle. To heck with it. Guess they get my one month fees.
Great content don’t get new wrong. But the app is unusable on the latest AppleTV software. Can’t even move from home to categories. Also the recently played list is so broken that it is random what it houses to play, the one thing you can be almost certain of is that the icon you select will NOT be the video that plays. 5star for content, -2 star and counting for the Apple TV app.
Please fix this buggy App! Recently viewed tiles are alway in wrong order, sometimes will not load without multiple attempts.
TGC material is great as always. No where else can you get the quality for the price you pay (especially is if you get the 3month discount). The plus app is still something to be desired though. It’s glitchy. I often have to restart it and often times it will spend for extended periods of time regardless of my internet source. This is my only complaint.
Soo .. my issue with the app is this. While it runs fine for 1 lecture at a time, I can’t seem too to access the next lecture in that series. As a result, I’d have to delete and redownload the app every time I wanted to move to another lecture. All other issues didn’t seem to show up for me as such. Playback was fine. And it’d more or less remember where I left off. With a little buffering and confusion at times. Overall, great courses, ok app. Thx.
I watched 3 courses but now Unable to open or watch courses even though I paid a years subscription.
